TRAVIS get pie-eyed in the video for their new single ‘SING’ – and you can watch it right [url=]here, right now!
The band filmed the video, which culminates in an enormous food-fight, over three days in a mansion in Pasadena with director duo Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, who made REM‘s ‘Tourfilm’ and shot videos for Smashing Pumpkins‘ ‘Tonight, Tonight’ and Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ ‘Californication’.
Travis singer Fran Healy has written a diary detailing their antics at the video shoot at their official website [url=]www.travisonline.com, in which he says one of the highlights was bassist Dougie Payne “getting whacked in the face with a massive ball of spinach” during the food-fight which is the climax of the video, which also features a monkey, a bored little rich girl and various aristocrats getting cream-pies chucked in their face, with the band joining in around an enormous swanky banqueting table.
The video is to be shown on ‘Top Of The Pops’ tonight (April 20).
‘Sing’ is released on April 28, and the album ‘The Invisible Band’ follows on June 11. The band have live appearances this summer lined up at Leeds Town Hall on May 28 (sold out), the Heineken Green Energy Festival in Ireland on May 6 and 7 at Dublin Castle. They also play at Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park in Germany on June 3-4 before heading to the US and Canada for support dates with Dido. They are also confirmed for Fuji Rock Festival on July 28.
It is anticipated that they are also likely to join the bill for Reading and Leeds Carling Weekend Festival and Glasgow Green in August.
