TRAVIS SAY SELECT A BO!

Youngster replaces full-time drummer Neil Primrose while he spends time with his pregnant wife...

Travis have recruited an unknown teenage drummer from MANCHESTER to replace original member NEIL PRIMROSE on tour, while he spends time at home with his expectant wife.

It is unclear how new drummer Bo Walsh landed the job, but Travis‘ connections with Manchester can be traced back to ex-Inspiral Carpets keyboardist Clint Boon. Boon has a close relationship with Travis, and his new band The Clint Boon Experience supported Travis on their UK tour before Christmas. It is possible that Boon recommended Walsh to the band.

A spokesperson for Travis told nme.com that Walsh was strictly a temporary replacement for Primrose, and the new drummer would feature for approximately ten days on the band’s American tour with Oasis while Primrose stayed at home with his wife, who is due to give birth in April. Travis’ US tour with Oasis starts on April 5 in Seattle.

Walsh is quoted in today’s Sun newspaper (March 24) as saying: “I was totally blown away when they asked me. It’s every wannabe rock star’s dream come true.”

As previously reported on nme.com, Travis release a brand new single ‘Coming Around’ on June 5 through Independiente. The song is taken from the band’s forthcoming, as yet untitled third album, due for release early next year.
