Bassist Dougie Payne says the band are "very happy" with the new LP...

TRAVISbassist, DOUGIE PAYNE, has revealed that their new album is coming along nicely and nearly finished.

The Scots outfit are tipped to release the follow-up to 2001’s ‘The Invisible Band’ later this year.

Payne said, “We’re just about there, I won’t say too much but we’re getting there. It’s all going very well – we’re very happy with it so far.”

Speaking to Radio 1 at a charity screening of the new movie ‘Down With Love,’ he added that the album is, as of yet, untitled. He said, “We’ve got a whole heap of songs, finished and mixed, and we’re just maybe going to do another couple, you know, just for good measure.”

He also confirmed that drummer Neil Primrose is fully recovered after breaking his neck in a swimming pool accident last year, saying, “He’s in great form .”
