And the first 75 people to arrive at the West Coast shows will get free tickets to see the band supporting Dido in the States soon...
TRAVIS have two free gigs lined up in CALIFORNIA to mark the release of their new album, ‘THE INVISIBLE BAND’, which goes on sale Stateside on June 12.
The band play a free show at the Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco on June 12, followed by a gig outside Virgin Megastore, West Hollywood, on the 14th, with the band meeting fans at a signing session after each.
The first 75 people to arrive at the shows will receive a free ticket to gigs on their forthcoming US tour supporting Dido, which starts on Sunday (June 10) in Vancouver.
Also, according to Allstar news on www.cdnow.com, it has been confirmed that two tracks from the B-side to current UK single ‘Sing’, which was released yesterday (June 4), will be included on the US version of the album as bonus tracks. ‘Ring Out The Bells’, written by bassist Dougie Payne and ‘You Don’t Know What I’m Like’, by guitarist Andy Dunlop, will both be included on the US version.
In other news, the band’s performance on UK chart show Top Of The Pops this Friday (June 8) will see them recreate the food-fight from the video for ‘Sing’. Pictures in today’s Sun newspaper show the foursome splattered with cream-pies, with Dougie, Andy and drummer Neil Primrose pelting frontman Fran Healy – who sings into a lobster -with food.
