Travis Scott honours Santa Fe shooting survivors at basketball game

"Y'all are the strongest people on this earth”

Houston rapper Travis Scott honoured the survivors of the Santa Fe school shooting at a Houston Rockets basketball game.

On Friday (May 18), 10 people were killed and many others injured when gunman Dimitrios Pagourtzis opened fire at Santa Fe High School.

After a short speech at the Rockets game against the Golden State Warriors from team owner Tilman Fertitta who introduced Travis Scott and passed the microphone to him.

“To the Santa Fe seniors, to the amazing officers, to the principals, we love you,” the Rapper said, pointing to the seating area where the students of Santa Fe High School sat, “Y’all are the strongest people on this Earth. Thank you for being the heroes for all of us.”

Scott recently unveiled a new track during a live show earlier this month ahead of his upcoming album ‘Astroworld.’

The album, the follow up to 2016’s ‘Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight’ has no set release date, but is presumed to drop at some point later this year.

Scott, who had a baby with Kylie Jenner earlier this year, has previously featured on Miguel’s single ‘Skywalker’, with a video for the track seeing the pair perform a section on top of a police car.

Last year, the rapper was spotted in the studio with Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker,  but it’s not clear what has come of the sessions.
