TV On The Radio have been forced to cancel a number of upcoming shows as drummer Jahphet Landis has been hospitalised.
In a statement posted by Pitchfork, the band assured fans that Landis will be fine, but as he is not able to travel, all European dates scheduled for this month have been cancelled, including five UK shows.
“It is with much regret that due to a health emergency, TV On The Radio have been forced to cancel their upcoming Europe/UK tour which is due to start this Friday,” wrote the band.
“Drummer, Jahphet is in the hospital; he will be ok but is not able to travel at this time. TV On The Radio would like to apologize to their European & UK fans and appreciate everyone’s understanding and well wishes for Jahphet at this time.”
The UK gigs were due to take place between February 16 and 21 in Edinburgh, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and London. American dates scheduled for March and April are currently unaffected.
TV On The Radio released their fifth studio album ‘Seeds’ in November, along with a video for lead single ‘Happy Idiot’, which features former Doctor Who actor Karen Gillan plus Paul ‘Pee-Wee Herman’ Reubens as a racing driver suffering a mental breakdown.
