As Billboard reports, the Odd Future rapper tweeted about the album on Friday and said that while he was a fan of Eminem, he is not a fan of the new release. The LP marks the 15th anniversary of Eminem’s Shady Records imprint and spans two discs. It features the best of Shady Records’ back catalogue, plus new material from Eminem, Slaughterhouse, Bad Meets Evil, D-12 and Yelawolf.
“I love you Marshall, you are my favorite rapper, but dude ‘ShadyXV’ is fucking ASS,” he wrote, adding, “Hahaha, why won’t someone who loves him tell him NO.” Odd Future supported Eminem on tour this summer, including dates in Ireland, Australia and two nights at Wembley Stadium in London.
This is not the first time Tyler has passed comment on a new album by one of his peers, comparing U2’s latest album to “herpes” in September. He said the way in which U2’s new album was automatically uploaded onto 500 million account holders’ iTunes was “like waking up with a pimple or herpes.”
Earlier this year, Tyler, The Creator was arrested at South By Southwest in Austin, Texas, for allegedly inciting a riot. The Odd Future member was picked up by police at Austin-Bergstrom Airport on March 15 following an alleged incident which took place on March 13 in downtown Austin. He was arrested and charged with a Class A misdemeanor with bail set at $25,000 (£15,000).
