Tyler, The Creator remixes Zayn Malik’s ‘Pillowtalk’ after singer ‘flaked’ on collaboration

Odd Future rapper claims that One Direction star failed to commit to working together

Tyler, The Creator has unveiled a remix of Zayn Malik‘s ‘Pillowtalk’ after plans for a collaboration between the pair fell through.

Last year, the former One Direction singer appeared keen to work with the Odd Future rapper. Tyler had originally pitched the idea of a collaboration over Twitter, writing: “Hi @zaynmalik, I have beautiful instrumentals and you have a voice lets figure this out my guy. Epic album cuts tho no radio singles”. Malik later responded: “@fucktyler sounds sick BRO let do some shit!”

However, Tyler has now taken to Twitter to claim that Malik “flaked on studio sessions twice”. Instead, the rapper opted to remix his counterpart’s recent single back in March. He has now uploaded a video of himself dancing to the remix.

The video has been removed from YouTube in some countries, suggesting that Tyler didn’t gain permission to remix the track. You can still watch the video and hear the song via the uploads beneath.

Tyler, The Creator recently debuted a new song which references the fact he has been banned from entering the UK.

After he cancelled a series of UK live dates last summer, the Odd Future rapper tweeted: “BASED ON LYRICS FROM 2009 I AM NOT ALLOWED IN THE UK FOR 3-5 YEARS ( although i was there 8 weeks ago) THAT IS WHY THE SHOWS WERE CANCELLED.”

Now he has taken aim at Home Secretary Theresa May, who holds overall responsibility for granting permission to enter the UK, in a new track called ‘My Ego’ which he performed at a fashion show in Los Angeles earlier this month (June 11).

Tyler, The Creator raps on the track: “Tell Theresa May to let me in / I been going in since 2010 / It gotta be the color of my skin / Cause there’s n****s there / That doing more damage than my pen, man / Said some old lines was offensive / I was young, I can’t apologise for that shi t/ They took my fiction literature for literal / I ain’t no motherfuckin’ criminal”
