Listen to Tyler, the Creator’s beautiful ‘I Am The Grinch’ song from ‘The Grinch’ soundtrack

It's the second Tyler-featuring song to emerge from the new film, which is out today (November 9)

Tyler, the Creator has shared his brand new song ‘I Am The Grinch’, which – rather unsurprisingly – is taken from the soundtrack of the new movie The Grinch.

The Odd Future rapper has contributed two songs to the soundtrack of the animated film, which has been released today (November 9). The first, a cover of ‘You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch’, was released back in September, and saw Tyler link up with composer Danny Elfman.

‘I Am The Grinch’ has now been released to mark the cinematic arrival of this latest telling of Dr. Seuss’ 1957 Christmas tale. Featuring guest vocals from Fletcher Jones, the two-part track sees Tyler taking on the persona of the titular, Christmas-hating character as he raps in reference to Father Christmas: “Tell your homeboy in a red suit to chill/ Before I ban him from Whoville“.

A new lyric video for Tyler, the Creator’s song ‘I Am The Grinch’ has also gone live today – check it out below.

The Grinch features the voices of Benedict Cumberbatch (who plays the titular character), Rashida Jones, and Kenan Thompson. It follows 18 years on from the live-action adaptation of The Grinch, titled How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which starred Jim Carrey in the lead role.

Last month, Tyler shared an instrumental version of his album ‘Cherry Bomb’ three years on from its original release.
