U2 are set to release a 3-D film of their Vertigo world tour.
The untitled documentary is being prepared for release next year, and it will draw from 700 hours of footage shot during the South American leg of the Vertigo tour in February and March this year.
To coincide with the release, U2 are considering staging a 3-D performance to be projected in cinemas around the world.

The film was directed by Mark Pellington, who was also responsible for the band’s ’One’ video, and with Catherine Owens, who was a creative director on several U2 world tours.
The film is currently being edited in New York, and the band are in talks with several film studios regarding its distribution.
