The Edge say the band's next album will be "very raw"...

THE EDGE has tuned into the NEW ROCK REVOLUTION championed by NME – and says U2‘s next album will have a much harder sound than 2000’s acclaimed ‘ALL THAT YOU CAN’T LEAVE BEHIND’.

The band are currently in the studio recording tracks for the new album, which is due to for released in late 2003.

Guitarist The Edge says the band have been working on six new songs.

He said: “Right now, my instinct is to make a very raw kind of guitar, bass, drums – an album with a lot of attitude and a lot of that kind of life force, vitality that I associate with guitar bands in full flight.”
