'Electric Storm' tipped to be the track which will launch the band's new 'Best Of'...
U2 will release new single ‘ELECTRIC STORM’ on October 21, according to reports.
The track, the first of two new songs to feature on a forthcoming ‘Best Of’ compilation due in November.
‘Electric Storm’ will be released to radio on September 16, according to French fansite u2achtung.com. A spokesperson for U2 could not confirm the October 21 single release date at press time.
It is unclear what the second new song on the ‘Best Of’ will be, though for the last few weeks U2 have been streaming snippets of ‘The Hands That Built America’, the song they have written for Martin Scorsese’s long-awaited ‘Gangs Of New York’ epic on their official site.
The 17-track album is due on November 18.
A DVD of U2‘s greatest hits, including videos to all tracks and a number of additional extras, will appear in early December, rounding up a crowded few weeks of U2 releases. A DVD filmed at the second of the band’s historic two Slane Castle shows from 2001 is also in the offing.
