U2 are to perform live at the SUPERBOWL next year.
The group will perform live during the half-time interval at the Super Bowl XXXVI, which takes place at the Louisiana Superdome on February 3.
Traditionally the event draws a massive television audience, with an estimated 130 million in the US, and 800 million fans watching the event worldwide.
NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue said: “This year’s show will take on new meaning in light of recent world events. We are pleased that the spectacular talent of U2 will become part of our Super Bowl half-time tradition.”
In other news, U2 vocalist Bono is reported to be working with Noel Gallagher on a tribute song to his late father. Titled ‘One Step Closer To Knowng’ the track is thought to deal with the death of the U2 singer’s father Bob, who passed away in the summer while the group were on their recent world tour, reports The Sun newspaper.
