And the 'Elevation' video will feature the movie's star Angelina Jolie...

U2 have confirmed today (April 9) that ‘ELEVATION’ will be their next single and that the song will appear on the soundtrack to the forthcoming ‘TOMB RAIDER’ blockbuster.

The band shot the video for the release in Los Angeles over the weekend (April 7-8). Angelina Jolie, who will star as Lara Croft in the adaptation of the computer game, features in the promo.

According to, the video sees Good U2 battling with Evil U2 for world domination. Jolie will be seen rescuing The Edge from the clutches of the band’s evil doppelgangers. The film finishes with both U2s going head to head in a street jam.

The video was directed by Joseph Kahn, who most recently helmed Wu-Tang Clan‘s ‘Gravel Pit’ and Destiny’s Child‘s ‘Say My Name’.

It is the third single to be lifted from U2‘s ‘All That You Can’t Leave Behind’ album, following UK chart topper ‘Beautiful Day’ and ‘Stuck In A Moment (You Can’t Get Out Of)’. ‘Walk On’ has also appeared as a single but only in Canada. No date has been set for ‘Elevation”s release.
