The video for U2‘s new single ‘BEAUTIFUL DAY’ will have its world premiere this coming Friday (September 8) on MTV and VH1 in the US.
Shot last month in Paris’ Charles De Gaulle‘s airport, the film, directed by Jonas Ackerlund, the man behind Madonna‘s ‘Music’ promo, will be aired on MTV’s Total Request Live at 3pm (EST) and on VH1 Live with U2 from 2pm (EST). At present there are no details of when UK or European audiences can see the video.
Eager fans can also catch a one minute preview of ‘Beautiful Day’ the night before. The clip will be played on the MTV Video Awards Pre-Show which will be broadcast at 6.30pm (EST) ahead of the 8pm ceremony.
Though U2 will not be performing at the 17th annual awards, frontman Bono and drummer Larry Mullen Jnr are slated to appear to present an award.
The pair will remain in New York to take part in a live studio interview ahead of the screening of the video on VH1.
‘Beautiful Day’, set for an October 9 release through Island is the first single to be lifted from new studio album ‘All That You Can’t Leave Behind’, due late October.
