U2 frontman offers fans the chance to ride a tandem bike around New York's Central Park
Bono is auctioning off the chance to ride a bike with him around New York’s Central Park, despite having suffered injuries from a cycling accident in the same location two years ago.
The U2 frontman underwent five hours of surgery after the incident in November of that year. At the time it was reported that he suffered several serious injuries, including a “facial fracture involving the orbit of his eye”.
Watch Bono recreate the incident with Jimmy Fallon below.
Now, Bono has teamed up with AIDS charity RED, offering the chance to join him on a tandem bike. “Life knocks us down, we get back up”, he says in a video. “Forget about jumping out of planes, scaling Mount Everest. Join me for a bike ride and really live on the edge”.
