An Emerson-less Underworld will sound "more rock'n'roll"...

Underworld have revealed their fourth studio album will be released next year and will be “more rock’n’roll”.

Speaking to US website Underworld[/a] programmer Rick Smith said the band have now started work on their new studio album, the follow-up to their acclaimed ‘Beaucoup Fish’ from last year.

Speaking about the record, he said: “One day I think it’s going to be the best thing ever, the next day I think I’m never going to write a good song again. It’s just like, ‘Look, I don’t want to tackle the technical problems we were having on the next record.’ No images here, just sound.”

Smith also revealed that the new album may be mixed in surround sound, and the band may also play live in the US later in the year.
