But the R&B star faces stiff competition with new singles from Dr Dre, Baha Men and Martine McCutcheon...

DR DRE, ANASTACIA, BAHA MEN and ELBOW all release new singles today, with USHER and MARTINE McCUTCHEON heading the early predictions as to who is likely to be Number One this coming Sunday (January 28).

Of this week’s high-profile new releases, Dr Dre releases the Snoop Dogg-assisted ‘The Next Episode’ via Interscope, R&B vocalist Usher releases ‘Pop Ya Colla’ via Arista, Martine McCutcheon releases ‘On The Radio’ via Innocent, and the Baha Men attempt to follow the massive success of ‘Who Let The Dogs Out?’ with their new single ‘You All Dat’ via Edel.

A chart expert at HMV in London told NME.COM this morning that all of these new releases could enter the Top Ten, but thought Usher would just edge McCutcheon to the Number One spot. He added: “It’s a strange week for singles, because many could do well. Take the Baha Men, even if their single sells 0.5% of what ‘Who Let The Dogs Out?’ did, it will still go Top Ten!”

Of the other new releases, Elbow look likely to have their first Top 40 single with the ‘Any Day Now EP’, released via Uglyman, Dario G releases ‘Dream To Me’ via Manifesto and Phoenix release their new single, ‘If I Ever Feel Better’.
