The singer also takes on George W Bush
Pink had a sly dig at fellow pop singer Britney Spears during her slot at the V Festival[/a] in Staffordshire this evening (August 19).
Following recent tabloid reports that have linked Spears to everything from lesbian romps and an affair with a magician, Pink opted to change one her lyrics during her V Stage appearance to comment on the singer’s current woes.
Performing Dont Let Me Get Me, she changed the regular line “tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears, shes so pretty” to say “shes so crazy”, drawing loud laughter and cheers from the crowd.
With the set also including the likes of ‘Just Like A Pill’,
‘Trouble’ and ‘Who Knew’, Spears wasnt the singers only target, as Pink also took aim at George W Bush.
“I wanna get political for a second, she told the crowd ahead of ‘Dear Mr President’. Maybe after one year of playing this song, the world might be a better place.”
She then played the track accompanied by images of soldiers, explosions, crying children and the US leader himself.
However with the set also including covers of Janis Joplins Summertime and 4 Non Blondes Whats Up, Pink did enjoy a few lighter moments, asking one girl in the crowd: “Can I borrow your hairspray?” as her towering blonde mowhawk sagged before she ended the set with ‘Get The Party Started’.
