Rize Festival, the festival replacing V, has announced the first names for its 2018 line-up.
Last year, Festival Republic said V Festival would be rebranded after Richard Branson announced Virgin would no longer be sponsoring the event. However, Rize is being called a “brand new festival”.
The inaugural Rize Festival will take place at Chelmsford’s Hylands Park – the same Essex site as V – on August 17 and 18.

Liam Gallagher and Stereophonics have been confirmed as the headliners for the event, and will be joined across the weekend by the likes of Years & Years, Rag’n’Bone Man, Manic Street Preachers, Bastille, James Bay, Circa Waves, Craig David, and more.
Tickets will go on sale at 9:30am on Friday (March 2) and are priced from £59.50.
Festival Republic promoter Melvin Benn had previously said the V Festival replacement would take place in both Chelmsford and Staffordshire, as in the past. A representative for Rize Festival has confirmed to NME no event will take place in Staffordshire.
The line-up for Rize Festival so far is as follows:

Liam Gallagher, meanwhile, collected the Godlike Genius award at the VO5 NME Awards 2018. Last week, he performed Oasis classic ‘Live Forever’ at the BRIT Awards in tribute to the victims of the Manchester bombing in 2017.
