Triumph the Insult Comic Dog pokes fun at Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig – watch

Singer makes appearance on new sitcom

Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig has made a guest appearance on US TV programme The Jack and Triumph Show.

The recently-launched sitcom stars 30 Rock‘s Jack McBrayer and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, a puppet best known for mocking celebrities on Late Night with Conan O’Brien before the host departed the chat show in 2009.

In the clip, Triumph and McBrayer are working at a coffee shop when the dog repays Koenig’s kind words by insulting his mother, though not before McBrayer notes he once met the singer at the “2011 Men Who Look Like Boys Convention”. Click below to watch.

The Jack and Triumph Show airs each Friday on Comedy Swim in the US. The first two episodes have seen guest appearances from Michael Winslow, Tay Zonday, William Shatner, Hulk Hogan and Paul Rudd.

Koenig is no stranger to sitcoms having previously recorded a cover of the Seinfeld theme tune for The Junior Mint, a video game based on the episode of the same name in which players choose to control either Jerry or Kramer and attempt to throw Junior Mints into a patient’s open surgery wound.
