Vampire Weekend delay release of new album

'Modern Vampires Of The City' will now be released one week later than planned

Vampire Weekend have delayed the release of their new album by one week.

The band’s forthcoming third album, ‘Modern Vampires Of The City’, was due to be released on May 7 but will now be with fans on May 14 with “unanticipated delays” cited by the New Yorkers on Facebook. Posting a message to fans about the delay, the band wrote: “Vampire Weekend’s upcoming album Modern Vampires of The City will be released on May 14, one week later than originally announced due to unanticipated delays in the production of physical copies of the record. The new date ensures that CDs and vinyl will be in stores on release day. We all worked very hard on this record and promise it will be worth the wait.”

‘Modern Vampires Of The City’ will be Vampire Weekend’s third album following their self-titled debut and 2010 effort ‘Contra’. Scroll down to hear two new tracks from the album.
