Vampire Weekend announce two live shows, say new album is 94.5% done

The NYC band returned to the stage with a surprise performance last month

Vampire Weekend have announced two new shows and given an update on their upcoming LP. Check out details below

As we edge closer to the New York group’s fourth record, Ezra Koenig and the gang have revealed that they’ll take to the stage at Libbey Bowl in Ojai, California next month.

“[One show’s] on Saturday night, the other’s Sunday morning. Probably worth catching both,” the band captioned the announcement on their official Instagram.

Responding to a fan’s request for a percentage update on the new album, they said “94.5%”, according to Stereogum. Singer Koenig told a fan in September 2017 that the record was “80% done but the last 20% is always the hardest”.

Vampire Weekend’s official Facebook page has also been updated with a new logo.

LP 4 is currently known by the working title ‘Mitsubishi Macchiato’.

The group returned to the social media platform last week following a five-year absence. They posted three snaps depicting a broken TV, a fleece jumper and a sticker on the back of a car.

The band made their live return last month – marking their first official performance since appearing at Reading & Leeds festivals back in 2014.

Across summer, the band also have appearances scheduled for Australia’s Splendour In The Grass, Fuji Rock in Japan, Chicago’s Lollapalooza, and Salisbury’s End Of The Road.
