Van Morrison signs deal to release live album in 2009

New recording of 'Astral Weeks' is on its way

Van Morrison has announced that he will release the recent live recording of his ‘Astral Weeks’ album in the US in early 2009.

The veteran singer re-recorded his landmark 1968 album during two live performances at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles in November.

“I brought these records to EMI because they seem to have people with vision, who have ‘ears’ and who understand the significance of the complex arrangements and the classic essence of recordings like ‘Astral Weeks’,” Van Morrison said in a statement.

The exact release date of ‘Astral Weeks’ recorded at the Hollywood Bowl has not yet been announced.
