Band appear on US radio show World Cafe Session
Peter, Bjorn and John recently played a set in Stockholm for US radio show World Cafe Session. The trio took the opportunity to unveil a couple of new songs, including ‘Do Si Do’. Click below to watch footage of the performance.
Writing in a press release, the band described the track as “Abba-esque disco-folk” that “like a rowdy sea-chant or cowboy-song…seeks resolution in drink and dance with the downing of drinks and square dancing giving handy metaphors to the state of affairs”.
Peter, Bjorn and John returned from a four year absence earlier this year with the release of ‘High Up (Take Me To The Top)’. Though their last album ‘Gimme Some’ came out in 2011, the band have since founded Ingrid, a record label and artist collective that includes fellow Swedes Lykke Li and Miike Snow. ‘High Up (Take Me To The Top)’ appeared on the compilation album ‘Ingrid Volym 2’. The group are probably best know for their super-catchy 2006 hit single ‘Young Folks’. Active since 1999, they have six albums and three EPs to their name.
