400 new and established acts set to perform around Brighton over the weekend
This year’s Great Escape festival kicks off today (May 14) with over 400 new and established acts set to perform around Brighton.
The music showcase event, which takes place in a number of venues in the coastal city, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and runs from May 14-16.
NME will host two stages across the weekend with George The Poet, Hollie McNish and Kate Tempest set to perform at the Corn Exchange venue tonight (May 14). Tempest will perform twice on the night, with a poetry recital set to be followed by a full live band show later in the evening.
Meanwhile, NME Radar at The Haunt will run every evening over the weekend. Tonight (May 14) will see Courtney Barnett’s tourmate Fraser A Gorman, London duo Formation, Sydney trio Little May and former Late Of The Pier man LA Priest (pictured above) all perform live. See the set times below.

Bands and artists including Yak, Girl Band, Shamir and Gengahr will also performing on the NME Stage over the weekend. Friday night (May 15) will see The Garden, Bully, Yung, The Big Moon and Rat Boy all appearing at The Haunt. A special guest headline act for Friday night will also be announced shortly. Palma Violets, Fat White Family and Peace have all played secret gigs for NME at The Great Escape the slot in previous years.

Former Jam frontman Paul Weller will play a free secret gig at the festival on Saturday (May 16), with the venue to be announced.
