Sinkane has released a new video for his track ‘Young Trouble’.
Directed by Philip Di Fiore and Christopher J. Lytwyn, the experimental piece features footage of Sinkane performing, which the pair manipulated through a series of musical instruments.
As explained in a press release, “Di Fiore ‘played’ the footage by playing the keys of the keyboard and turning the knobs of the guitar pedals. All the while, the manipulated footage was being recorded and would become the new footage Di Fiore would enter the editing room with.” Click below to watch.
Di Fiore commented: “We took our inspiration from photographers, filmmakers and video-makers who have dared to be playful and curious by altering, distorting and messing with their work in order to find out what can happen when you push a medium outside of its comfort zone.
“We were able to get beautiful combinations of colors and waves of light which moved with the musicians – as if we filmed the band live at the Aurora Borealis.”
Although billed as a video for ‘Young Trouble’, the second half contains a portion of the song ‘Yacha’. Both tracks featured on Sinkane’s 2014 LP ‘Mean Love’.
