South African rapper Flabba ‘stabbed to death by girlfriend’

Rapper was killed in his home in Alexandra

South African rapper Flabba has been stabbed to death with his girlfriend being held by police investigating the incident.

Flabba, real name Nkululeko Habedi, was confirmed dead by police in South Africa. He died at his home in Alexandra, a Johannesburg township. The police also confirmed that a woman was being held in custody.

Police have since confirmed with the BBC that the woman is Habedi’s girlfriend and that she will be charged with murder and appear in court “within 48 hours”.

Flabba (pictured above front row, left) was a member of Skwatta Kamp, one of the biggest hip-hop groups in South Africa. The group released six albums together and his bandmate, Sello “Nemza” Mofokeng, paid tribute to Habedi on his Facebook page earlier today (March 9).

“It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the saddest news this morning that one of my brothers, Flabba, has passed away,” Nemza wrote. “May his soul RIP, he will never be forgotten. Gone too soon with so much potential still. Will always love him. Life is a precious gift and he lived every breath with a full heart.”
