Shamir announces debut album ‘Ratchet’

Singer to tour the UK in support of the record

Shamir has announced the release of his first full-length album ‘Ratchet’.

The LP will come out in the UK on May 18 (with the US release a day later) via XL Recordings.

Last October, Shamir temporarily relocated to Brooklyn, where he lived in the artist space Silent Barn and recorded ‘Ratchet’ with producer Nick Sylvester. The record will feature 10 tracks, including single ‘On The Regular’, and is said to be thematically focused on the 20-year-old singer’s experiences growing up in Las Vegas.

Shamir released his debut EP ‘Northtown’ last year, described by NME as “one of 2014’s most essential new EPs”.

The ‘Ratchet’ tracklist is:

‘Vegas’
‘Make A Scene’
‘On The Regular’
‘Call If Off’
‘Hot Mess’
‘Demon’
‘In For The Kill’
‘Youth’
‘Darker’
‘Head In The Clouds’

Shamir will be in the UK at the time of the ‘Ratchet”s release, playing a number of gigs in support of the record.

Shamir will play:
