Reading And Leeds Festival 2015 concludes today (August 30), with headline performances from The Libertines and Metallica.
The Libertines return to Reading Festival to headline for the first time. The band previously played second on the bill in 2010 and headlined Leeds Festival on Friday night (August 28).
Carl Barât of the band has said that the audience can expect new songs that will “hopefully make them cry”.
Barât expressed his excitement for the upcoming performance and explained that the band’s previous reunion show at the festival in 2010 was a motivating factor in them touring and writing together again. “The band are all friends and I feel like we’re growing together, I suppose instead of just being thrown together,” he told NME. “It’s like a body accepting a donor organ or something. We know it’s not going to reject it.”
BBC Four will broadcast the headline sets from the Reading Main Stage with The Libertines on screen between 22.30 – midnight tonight. Red button coverage of the festival, meanwhile, will be available between 18.00 – midnight.
Other artists set to appear at the Readding site today include Kendrick Lamar, Jamie T, The Maccabees, The Cribs and Jamie xx.
Meanwhile, in Leeds, Metallica return to headline the festival for the first time since 2008.
The band headlined Reading Festival last night (August 29) and delivered a two-hour headline set which featured a stage full of fans, pyrotechnics and a setlist packed with their best known songs.
Other artists set to appear at the Leeds site today include Bring Me The Horizon, Royal Blood, Catfish & The Bottlemen and Wolf Alice.
