Live performances, DJ sets, a pub quiz and talks will take place in Glasgow, Sheffield, Manchester and Brighton
Topman 24 will see live performances, DJ sets, a pub quiz and talks take place in Glasgow, Sheffield, Manchester and Brighton. In addition to Superfood and Spector, there will also be performances from Waze & Odyssey, Bondax and Star Slinger.
Meanwhile, in each city, the schedule of events includes a Play & Tell session where notable names from the local music scene discuss the music that matters to them. There will also be the opportunity for music fans to test their musical knowledge with a pub quiz devised by Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw. Grimshaw will also be playing host to both the Play & Tell and quiz in Sheffield.
The completely free event will kick things off in Glasgow from the 10th March and will roll out to Sheffield on the 12th, Brighton on the 17th and Manchester on the 19th. From 12pm on the day of the event in each city shoppers will be able to retrieve an exclusive wristband from any city centre Topman store giving them free access to all of the events.
The first free event will take place in Glasgow on March 10 with Bondax, Hector Bizerk and M/E/R/M/A/I/D/S performing live at Stereo alongside DJ sets from Danny Greenman, DJ Hector, Sam Vitamins and Big Miz.
The next Topman 24 event will take place on March 12 in Sheffield with Manic Street Preachers and Joy Division photographer Kevin Cummins speaking at 156 Arundel Street alongside This Is England producer Mark Herbert and actor Thomas Turgoose. Later that night Waze & Odyssey, Star Slinger and Jackson Swaby will all appear live at local venue The Harley.
The event moves to Brighton on March 17 for the first of two free gigs featuring Spector and Superfood. They will be joined on the bill by Fickle Friends, Shimster and Fono at The Haunt after XFM DJ Jon Kennedy has spoken to spoken word artist Luke Wright and Resident Records’ Derry Watkins at The Hope earlier that afternoon.
Topman 24 then concludes on March 19 with Spector and Superfood performing at Manchester’s Soup Kitchen venue alongside John Loveless and DJ sets from Hoya Hoya, Now Wave and The Warehouse Project DJs.
Additionally, Topman will provide a complimentary hangover breakfast instore the morning after each of the gigs to wristband holders.
