American Football announce first-ever UK tour for 2015

The reunited emo band will play shows in London, Leeds and Manchester during May 2015

Recently-reunited emo band American Football have confirmed their first-ever UK live dates.

The band, which features Mike Kinsella of Owen, Cap’n Jazz and Joan of Arc, reformed earlier this year, having split in 2000. The reissue of their self-titled debut was released by Polyvinyl in May, with the band playing a series of shows in North America.

Having never played a UK show in the past, American Football will now do a trio of dates in May 2015, starting with a show at London’s Electric Ballroom, Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club and Gorilla in Manchester.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday (November 24) at 10am via the band’s official website. See the dates in full below.

London Electric Ballroom (May 14)
Leeds Brudenell Social Club (15)
Manchester Gorilla (16)

American Football formed in Illinois in 1997, releasing one album, ‘American Football’, in 1999. Their debut EP ‘American Football EP’ was released in 1998 and reissued in 2004. The band’s members include Mike Kinsella, Steve Lamos and Steve Holmes.
