Ride posters in Barcelona spark rumours band may reform for Primavera Sound 2015

Ride could be set to reform, with images circulating the internet suggesting that they’re to play Primavera Sound 2015 in Barcelona.

Creation Records, the label behind the band’s four studio albums, posted a picture of the poster on their official Facebook page earlier today. The image shows the shoegaze band’s logo on the side of a building in Spain.

The same poster tactic was used ahead of The Strokes being confirmed for Primavera Sound 2015 earlier this month. A banner bearing the Strokes logo appeared on Passeig del Born in Barcelona.

Primavera Sound 2015 is set to run from May 28-30, 2015 in Barcelona. Last year’s headliners included Arcade Fire, Queens Of The Stone Age, Neutral Milk Hotel and more.

Ride formed in Oxford in 1988, releasing four albums – ‘Nowhere’ (1990), ‘Going Blank Again’ (1992), ‘Carnival of Light’ (1994) and ‘Tarantula’ (1996) – before their split in 1996. They reformed briefly in 2001 for a Channel 4 documentary and ‘Best Of’ release.

Ride member Andy Bell was a member of Beady Eye with Liam Gallagher until the band’s recent split.
