Auction aims to raise funds for children living in landfills

The Strokes, Four Tet, Chvrches and Beyonce have all donated their shoes to a charity auction.

The annual Celebrity Shoes auction is hosted by the Small Steps Project, a UK charity that provides aid to children who live on landfills around the world.

The auction sees big names autograph and donate their shoes to help raise funds. This year, the Strokes donated a pair of red converse, Four Tet donated a pair of Nike Air Max trainers that he wore at Glastonbury, and Beyoncé opted for a pair of stiletto boots by Stuart Weitzman.

Other contributors include Chvrches, De La Soul, Debbie Harry, Metronomy, Bombay Bicycle Club, Tom Odell, One Direction and Art Garfunkel. The shoes are all available on eBay now for as little as 99p.

Yesterday, it was revealed that The Strokes will headline Barcelona’s Primavera Sound festival in May 2015 after frontman Julian Casablancas had previously thrown cold water on the possibility of future gigs.

Meanwhile, Chvrches revealed new song ‘Dead Air’, which fill feature on the soundtrack for the new Hunger Games movie.
