Taylor Swift is set for the Number One position in this week’s Official UK Albums Chart.
The US singer’s new album was released on Monday (October 27) and has already sold 60,000 copies – more than the rest of the current Top Five combined. Chart success this week would mark Swift’s second Number One in the UK following 2012 album ‘Red’. The final chart placings will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 on Sunday (November 2).
Elsewhere in the Official Albums Chart, Led Zeppelin have the only other new entry in the Top Five with the reissue of their 1971 album ‘IV’. The album is one of two reissues from the band with their 1973 album ‘Houses Of The Holy’ currently at Number Seven.
There are a further nine new entries in the Official Chart Top 40 starting with Annie Lennox’s ‘Nostalgia’ new at Six. Elsewhere there are new entries for Mallory Knox (13), Black Veil Brides (14), Yusuf Islam (18), Simon & Garfunkel (19), Devin Townsend Project (24), Rancid (31), The Twilight Sad (34) and Worship Central (36).
Meanwhile, Meghan Trainor’s reign at the top of the Official Singles Chart with ‘All About That Bass’ could be about to come to an end, with Ed Sheeran’s new single ‘Thinking Out Loud’ rising one position to Number One.
