The Exploited frontman has heart attack onstage

The Scottish singer collapsed onstage in Lisbon

The lead singer of The Exploited has suffered a heart attack onstage.

Wattie Buchan fell to the floor, unconscious, during the gig at Lisbon’s Republica Da Musica last week. The band have now called off all their upcoming gigs until at least May, reports The Daily Record. The band were on the road with Hatebreed and Napalm Death on the Tour of Chaos.

A spokesperson for the band commented: “We are sorry to say that due to a severe illness that Wattie can’t continue with the tour. He will be in hospital for at least a week. Thanks for all the get well messages.”

The Exploited formed in the late 1970s in Edinburgh. They released their debut album ‘Punks Not Dead’ in 1981. Their last album, ‘Fuck The System’, was released in 2003. In the same year 500 fans of the band rioted in Montreal after the band had to cancel their show there when they were refused entry to Canada. A new album is expected this year.
