Co-workers of Christina Grimmie’s killer say he was ‘obsessed’ with the singer

The former 'Voice' contestant was shot and killed outside an Orlando venue at the weekend (June 10)

Co-workers of the man who killed Christina Grimmie have said he was “obsessed” with the singer.

Kevin Loibl, who worked at a Best Buy store in Florida, apparently underwent medical procedures to look more appealing to the singer.

According to TMZ, Loibl had hair transplants, Lasik eye surgery and tried to lose weight via going vegan.

His colleagues at Best Buy teased him about wanting to marry Grimmie, according to the report, while Loibl claimed to have met her at a concert in March 2016 and played online games with her. Grimmie’s camp have denied this happened.

A note was found on Loibl’s door in St Petersburg, Florida, alleged to have been left by the gunman before he headed to Orlando, where he shot and killed Grimmie as she signed autographs after a concert.

The note read: “Deepest sorrow for lost to the family, friends and fans of the very talented, loving Christina Grimmie. No other commets [sic]”.

After shooting Grimmie, Loibl was tackled to the ground by her brother. He then shot himself and later died.

Grimmie appeared on The Voice US in 2014, when she finished third in the competition under the mentorship of Maroon 5‘s frontman Adam Levine.
