‘Dragons’ Den”s Duncan Bannatyne launches label with new boy band

Bannatyne, famous for his 'I'm out' catchphrase, releases single by Reconnected

Entrepreneur Duncan Bannatyne, famous for his catchphrase “I’m out” on BBC’s Dragons’ Den, has launched his own label with a new boyband.

The band, who are called Reconnected, will release their first single ‘One In A Million’ via the Dragon’s new label, which he has cleverly named Bannatyne Music, on March 18.

Reconnected, who appeared on the 2012 edition of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, have accompanied the single with a promo video which includes a cameo appearance from their new label boss Duncan Bannatyne – see if you can spot the Dragon in the video above.

According to Music Week, the label originally came to Bannatyne’s attention through the Dragons’ Den TV programme when Ryan Ashmore brought his RKA Records to the panel of Dragons to ask for a stake in the company to raise funds.

Ashmore has reportedly since sold his share in the company, hence the change in name, and has now taken on the roles of an artist manager and part-time A&R consultant for the label.

Reconnected will be touring with former X Factor winners Little Mix across the UK throughout this month and into February.

This is not the first time a band has been taken under the wing of one of the Dragons from the BBC show. In 2008, Peter Jones funded indie band Hamfatter after they went on the programme to drum up financial support.
