‘Fresh Meat’ star launches music career – watch

Actress Charlotte Ritchie plays Oregon Shawcross in hit C4 comedy

Fresh Meat actress Charlotte Ritchie has launched a music career with her brother, Luke.

‘Hammerite’ is the first song the pair have released and can be seen above. Luke and Charlotte Ritchie are due to release new material in the New Year and will also tour the UK. Prior to that, the sibling duo have three London shows lined up between now and January 2014. Dates for all three can be seen below.

“When Luke and I work together we regress to what we were like as children, but with less shoving and crying,” Ritchie tells NME. “As a result, we’re having such a good time making music.”

Ritchie, who plays Oregon Shawcross in the C4 comedy, first sang alongside her brother in 2012 with a recording of their performance being used over the closing credits of a Fresh Meat episode. Luke Ritchie is a solo artist in his own right and released debut album, ‘The Water’s Edge’, in 2012 and has also toured with Nico Muhly.

They play London shows at:

The Barbershop (November 28)
The Clapham Omnibus (December 2)
The Sebright Arms (January 30)

As well as Fresh Meat, Charlotte Ritchie is also a member of classical crossover act All Angels. The group have released three albums and perform classical versions of pop tracks by artists such as Prince, Coldplay and Fleetwood Mac.
