Latitude weather update: Hot and humid with a risk of thunderstorms

Lily Allen, Damon Albarn and The Black Keys will headline annual bash

Music fans attending this weekend’s Latitude Festival can expect conditions to be warm all weekend, but with the likelihood of thunderstorms.

The bash at Henham Park in Suffolk starts tomorrow with headline performances from Lily Allen, Damon Albarn and The Black Keys due across the weekend.

Friday’s weather is forecast to be hot and humid with sunny spells for much of the day. Risk of thundery showers will increase towards evening time, reports BBC Weather. Light winds will contribute to maximum temperatures of 23 degrees Celcius.

Latitude continues on Saturday (July 19) and Sunday (20), with Saturday very warm and humid with heavy thunderstorms, and longer spells of thundery rain possible. Further thundery showers are expected on Sunday, however, when Damon Albarn headlines the third and final day of the festival.

As reported yesterday, Two Door Cinema Club are no longer able to perform at the event as frontman Alex Trimble has fallen ill and is recuperating in hospital. They will be replaced by Allen, who said in a statement that she is “more than happy” to step in at the last minute.

Other acts on the Latitude bill include Editors, James, Crystal Fighters, Kelis, The Afghan Whigs, Tinariwen, Mogwai, Lykke Li, The War On Drugs, Slowdive, Temples, Parquet Courts, George Ezra, Conor Oberst and Tom Vek.
