Pet Shop Boys also surprise contenders to replace James Corden, say bookmakers
Radio 1 breakfast show host Nick Grimshaw and comedian Keith Lemon are the joint favourites to take over as host of the 2015 Brit Awards.
Grimshaw and Lemon both have odds of 5/1 with bookmakers William Hill, who make Pet Shop Boys the surprise 6/1 second-favourites alongside Dermot O’Leary and Jack Whitehall. The awards are looking for a new presenter after James Corden quit as host this year after a four-year presenting stint.
“People cannot get enough of Keith Lemon and Nick Grimshaw at the moment, and they seem like logical choices to fill James Corden’s shoes,” said William Hill spokesperson Joe Crilly. “The bizarre choice towards the top of the betting are Pet Shop Boys, whose odds have tumbled since this market opened up a year ago.”
The bookmaker is offering odds following the recent news that Tracey Emin will design the winners’ statues for the ceremony, which takes place at London’s O2 on February 25 2015.
Other contenders, according to William Hill, include Greg James (8/1); Rita Ora (8/1); Dave Berry (10/1); Fearne Cotton (10/1); Holly Willoughby (10/1); Noel Fielding (12/1); Russell Brand (12/1); Jimmy Carr (14/1); Ant & Dec (16/1); Richard Ayoade (20/1).
