The DOT and Streets artist reveals his latest collaborator
Former The Streets man Mike Skinner has teased details of a new project with London-based artist Oscar World Peace.
Skinner brought the curtain down on The Streets’ 10-year career in 2011 and has released two albums under The DOT moniker with ex-The Music singer Rob Harvey, the most recent being 2013’s ‘Diary’. Speaking in a video interview you can see below, he reveals what he is currently working on.
“I’m working with a guy called Oscar World Peace, who is a rapper from Tottenham,” says Skinner. “I’ve got a label called Mike Skinner Ltd, a really imaginitive name. We’ve also just started a club night – well, a pub night, a club in a pub – which is really fun.”
More recently, Skinner backed Kate Tempest to win this year’s Mercury Prize. Tempest is currently one of the favourites to win the award, alongside FKA Twigs, East India Youth and Damon Albarn. Mike Skinner received two Mercury nominations during his time as The Streets.
