Fan kicked out of show for posting negative comment on Twitter

MC Chris boots fan out of gig for "talking shit on Twitter"

A fan was kicked out of a Powerglove and MC Chris show for tweeting his disapproval at the support act.

Mike Taylor was at the concert at Union Transfer in Philadelphia to see nerdcore rapper MC Chris, but was ejected before he got to see him perform after posting a negative tweet aimed at support act Richie Branson.

Taylor tweeted: “Dear nerd rapper opening for Powerglove/MC Chris. You’re not good enough to pander to me. Better luck next time.”

According to his Reddit blog, Taylor was then singled out by MC Chris who pointed at him before saying, “security is going to take you the fuck out now. That’s what you get for talking shit on Twitter”.

Taylor’s Reddit post then garnered the attention of fellow fans and supporters who used Twitter to confront MC Chris for his actions and asked the rapper to apologise for ejecting Taylor.

MC Chris replied:

After receiving his apology, Taylor wrote on Reddit: “That doesn’t excuse what he did, but I’m fine knowing that this won’t happen again to any other of his fans. Feel free to discuss this as you wish, but apologizing was a classy move on his part. Craziest day of my life.”

MC Chris has since deleted his apology to Taylor but has returned to Twitter to poke fun at the altercation. He wrote: “No one gets kicked out, everyone can tweet whatever they like, and I’ll make sure everyone feels respected. And there’s music too!”.

The rapper is part of the nerdcore hip-hop scene, where artists create songs around themes from video games. MC Chris has also contributed his own original music to programmes on Adult Swim, most notably Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
