Rapper Capital Steez dead at 19

Steez was part of Brooklyn's Pro Era collective

Capital Steez, a rapper who was part of the New York based Pro Era collective, has died.

19-year-old Steez passed away yesterday (December 24).

Billboard are reporting that it is speculated that the rapper – real Jamal Dewar – committed suicide, because of his last Twitter update, which was posted yesterday. It reads:

The message has since been retweeted almost 7,000 times.

Steez’s collaborator Joey Bada$$ expressed his sympathy via his personal Twitter account, writing at Twitter.com/joeyBADASS_: “This unfortunate xmas eve.. Lost a best friend, a brother, a pro, a partner. Letting go is never easy.. May ur soul rest in peace Jamal..”.
