Hurricane Sandy damages Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame building

However, none of the artefacts in the Cleveland, Ohio museum were affected

Hurricane Sandy has damaged the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame building in Cleveland, Ohio.

Winds of up to 60mph blew portions of siding from the building, but fortunately, none of the historic artefacts stored within the museum have been harmed.

Fox 8 Cleveland reports that the damage to the building was only superficial, and that there were no structural or flooding issues, despite the fact that staff at the museum, which is located near Lake Erie, had been concerned about rising water levels yesterday (October 29).

Earlier this year, Red Hot Chili Peppers were inducted into the Hall Of Fame – see above – alongside the Beastie Boys and Guns N’ Roses.

Donna Summer, Deep Purple – pictured – and Public Enemy are among the nominations for induction in 2013.

The other hopefuls are Chic, Rush, Albert King, Heart, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Kraftwerk, The Marvellettes, The Meters, NWA, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Procul Harum and Randy Newman.

Those with the most votes will be inducted on April 18, 2013 at the Nokia Theatre in LA and, for the first time, the public gets to vote alongside the artists, historians and music industry insiders of the Rock Hall voting committee. Until December 5 you can vote via Rolling Stone.
