The man behind the ‘One Pound Fish’ novelty song, Muhammad Nazir, has been asked to leave the UK.
The Mirror reports that Nazir – whose single charted at 29 in the Official UK Singles Chart – must leave the country immediately, because his visa has expired.
The East London market trader must now get a new visa back home in Lahore, Pakistan in order to return to the UK.
The Mirror quotes Nazir’s agent, who says of the unlikely chart star. “He will be returning to Pakistan on Tuesday and will be celebrating New Year with his family.”
He added: “His return to the UK is pending approval of a working visa. We fully expect him to return in the coming weeks.”
