Bow Wow Wow announce first tour in 30 years

The new wave band will play 12 shows across the UK this spring

Bow Wow Wow, the 1980s new wave pop band once managed by the late punk impresario Malcolm McLaren, have announced plans for their first tour in three decades.

The band, who comprise of vocalist Annabella Lwin and bass player Lee Gorman since the death of guitarist Matthew Ashman in 1995, will play 12 shows across the UK this April and May.

The ‘Go Wild In The Country’ act formed in 1980 when McLaren took Ashman, Gorman and drummer Dave Barbe of Adam And The Ants to back then 14-year-old vocalist Lwin, who was ‘discovered’ by a friend in a dry cleaners.

As well as their cover of the 1960s hit ‘I Want Candy’, the band were most well known for the controversial artwork of their 1981 album ‘See Jungle! See Jungle! Go Join Your Gang, Yeah! City All Over, Go Ape Crazy!’ which featured a nude Lwin in a recreation of the Manet painting Le déjeuner sur l’herbe, pictured above.
