The sex tape allegedly featuring the rapper Tupac Shakur has been sold to a private collector, according to reports.
TMZ claims that the former owner of the tape, which was reportedly made in 1991 and features an unnamed woman performing oral sex on the rapper during a party, decided not to sell to any pornographic companies after describing them as “parasites”.
It is currently unknown how much the tape was sold for, but it was previously reported that two rival pornographic companies were ready to pay over $150,000 (£98,000) for the film.
Tupac’s family have made it clear they do not want the X-rated flick to be distributed and have insisted that they “will sue anyone who tries to sell a Tupac tape”.
According to an official spokesman for Tupac’s estate, only his family can authorise the use of Tupac’s image for commercial use and they are not prepared to allow his image to be used for this.
The rapper’s mother Afeni Shakur has also reportedly told her representatives: “Get the legal team ready because we will not allow someone to put it out.”
In October, drinks company NOHO were ready to pay over over $1 million (£642,000) for the rights to the unreleased track which is playing in the background of the tape. They wanted to use the song as the theme tune for a new commercial advertising a drink that promises to ensure that people don’t have hangovers after a night out
