Britain’s Best Small Venue: winning venue to get sound gear worth over £2,500

Vote now for your favourite unsung venue!

As NME’s campaign to find Britain’s Best Small Venue gathers pace, there’s an even bigger incentive to vote for your most-treasured sweatbox – the overall winner will now get a complete set of stage microphones worth over £2,500 courtesy of AKG and their UK distributor Sound Technology Ltd, who have now been added to the judging panel.

Vote now at NME.com/smallvenues to help your favourite win some swanky stage microphones.

Ever since Friendly Fires kicked off the campaign by playing an intimate set in their local pub The Horn in St Albans earlier this month, thousands of NME readers and NME.COM users have been suggesting which venue with a capacity of less than 500 should be crowned Britain’s Best Small Venue.

The regional shortlists have now been announced and are online at NME.com/smallvenues. Users can head there now to vote for who they think should win. Following the vote the regional winners will be judged by a panel of artists and experts, who will pick one as the overall winner.

The Horn will be holding an event this Friday (June 3) to celebrate being shortlisted. The evening will showcase a selection of bands from St Albans and the local area, including The Zipheads, Bleech, Wonderlust and The Vertigos.
