Olly Murs and ‘X Factor Finalists 2011’ take the top spots in UK charts

Murs has shifted almost 150,000 copies of his second record 'In Case You Didn't Know'

Olly Murs has knocked Rihanna off the top of the Official UK Album Chart with his second album ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’.

The singer shifted 148,000 copies of his new record, which was just 5,000 more than Michael Buble‘s festive LP ‘Christmas’, which is at Number Two. Rihanna‘s ‘Talk That Talk’ falls to Number Three, just ahead of One Direction and Adele.

The only other new entry in the Top 10 is from Il Divo, who are at Number Six with their new album ‘Wicked Game’.

In the Official UK Singles Chart, the X Factor contestants’ cover of Rose Royce‘s 1978 single ‘Wishing On A Star’ has ousted Rihanna from the top of the chart. The track, which has been re-recorded without the vocals of Frankie Cocozza, has been released with all proceeds going to children’s charity ‘Together For Short Lives’.

Rihanna falls to Number Three with ‘We Found Love’, with Olly Murs‘ single ‘Dance With Me Tonight’ at Number Two, Flo Rida at Number Four and Avicii at Number Five.

Jessie J is the only other new entry in the Top 10, with her single ‘Who You Are’ at Number Eight on the official rundown.

The Pogues have also re-entered the Official UK Singles Chart for the ninth time with ‘Fairy Tale Of New York’, which is at Number 23. Mariah Carey is also back in the chart at Number 27 with ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’.
